ART OF FIGHTING JANUARY 24

January 17th, 2009  |  Published in EVENTS  |  23 Comments

On January 24th SuckerPunch is sending a group to represent down in Sarasota Florida. Phillip “The Wicked” Wyman, Levon “The Maynman” Manard, Zach “The Ground Hog” Davis, Anthony “Antmo” Morrison and Francois “Bang Bang” Ambang travel south to do battle at the Art Of Fighting promotion in Robarts Arena.

This is going to be an explosive night as the promoters at AOF have put together a great card. Phillip Wyman faces Team Trauma stand out Carlos “The Rooster” Gonzales, Levon Maynard faces former IFL fighter Travis Cox, Zach Davis faces former body builder Nyantu Bolo, Anthony Morrison goes up against American Top Team stand out Fabio Mello and we finally get to see Francois Ambang in MMA gloves as he makes his MMA debut.

For more information on Art Of Fighting visit AOFMMA.com

We would like to recognize Jesus Didn’t Tap and Gamma-O, Knockout Brand Clothing, DynaPep, Critical and BFN for taking the chance and supporting the rising stars in the SuckerPunch stable. Through supporting tomorrow’s stars sponsors like them truly help evolve this sport.

CSC fighters Antomo and Bang Bang have been hitting it hard with two a days, to get ready for the march to Florida. This should be a great event with all the SuckerPunch fighters ready to represent.
Thanks to Jeff for having them out to his gym for a week, the guys got some great work in.

We are glad to have you guys on the card for our Rumble at Robarts event. The WWF started at this venue with MEAN GENE and DUSTY RHODES in the 1970′s. There is alot of history in this old arena. Many great boxers from the 60′s and 50′s bled here. On January 24th we plan on introducing new future stars to an sport that belongs to our generation, MMA!

As many of you have noticed I have been mysteriously absent from bars and unable to keep up with my usual shenanigans and debauchery. In the meantime I have been training hard for a fight, two months. But, its all coming to an end this saturday in Sarasota, Florida. I’ll be fighting Nyantu Bolo , who is body builder with some grappling experience. Should be a wild fight with him throwing some heavy power and me trying to ride him like a bull. With a name like Bolo he’s gotta be tough. The show is Art of Fighting and they have decided to shell out a little cash for my services. Honestly, I was just excited about the free trip to Florida. I have been eating egg whites and grilled chicken and should make my welterweight debut at 170, i think I am a lot better suited to this weight class and hopefully this will give me a height and reach advantage. Though I am always grumpy when someone gets between me and the baconator. A bunch of my friends from my management company Suckerpunch are throwing down as well so we should be having a blast. The art of fighting website has all the info if anyone wants to check it out, though I understand if you can’t make it, it is all the way in Florida. Hopefully, I can get a video to post relatively soon.

Anyway I’d like to thank my sponsors “Jesus Didnt Tap” fightwear (great t-shirt and conversation starter), Gamma-O testosterone booster, Big Frog Nutrition(Jeff Curran’s own supplement line), Critical Fight Gear (lotta cool stuff) and Im sure my manager will let me know if I forgot any.

Finally, to all the friends I havent hung out with in a while, when I get back we’ll party like its 1999, and you WILL buy me a beer win or lose.

    My Highlight if you’re interested.

PS I need catchy entrance music, any suggestions would be appreciated. So far its Ini Kamoze – Hotsteppa
