Controversial loss for Maynard at BCX V

It was a disappointing night for LeVon Maynard as the judges seemingly gave a win to hometown favorite Mike Medrano. Nobody knows what was going on at the Judges table during this fight and we are hoping that there was a mix up in the last names sounding similar (Medrano, Maynard)?? When the referee who was working the bout got the scorecard from the judges he turned back to them and said “All three!?! Really?”
This is a very discouraging blow to LeVon as he trained hard for the fight and earned that win. Medrano was a good sport and a class act about the situation, but he made it clear he is not interested in having a rematch LeVon anytime soon.

Maynard’s the only fighter that got robbed, but kept his jewelry. He’s a good fighter and he’ll bounce back.

I was very upset with the judges decision. Not only did my camp and all my supporters think I won the fight but so did random people from other camps and in the audience, the refs and even one of Medrano’s teammates came up to me after and said “to be honest you won that fight…”. I just couldn’t believe it.

Levon I saw the fight and it is hard to swallow that you didn’t get this decision. I believe the picture of you and the opponent above says it all. Are you going to push for a rematch?

Hey Jim, yeah I would love to fight Medrano again and avenge this bad decision. I expressed my wish to rematch with him shortly after the match but from his response I could tell that he knew he lost the match and knew what the results would be if we met up again. He told me that he wants to fight every month so I let him know that there is a show in Richmond (CSC) in August that I am looking to fight in. He said he wants to fight there as well so Brian Butler let me know he was going to do everything he could to convince him to take me on again. We will see what he decides…

I’m sorry about the loss, but crappy decisions do happen, there aint nothing to be done about it…besides it sounds like the fighters involved BOTH understand the truth of the match.
