It’s been a long road for Carlos David Oliveira who packed up his bags 8 months ago to make a living here in America. “I need to provide better for my family back home”, he told us. Home is Fortaleza Brazil which is a long way from his new home in Richmond, VA. Carlos, who goes by David or “Daveed”, is now the head BJJ and MMA coach at Combat Sports Center, the humble school that brought up UFC fighter Amir Sadollah and WEC fighter Anthony “Cheesesteak” Morrison.
David is a 2nd degree BJJ Black Belt under Roberto Traven with 2 MMA fights in the US to his name which lists him at 2-0 on sherdog. Davids total record if you include his fights in Brazil is a perfect 6-0-0. While establishing a winning team at CSC, David has been constantly improving the facets of his game and feels ready to step into one of the most recognized promotions on the east coast, Lue Neglia’s Ring Of Combat. “I am very grateful to be here in America and I hope to make my team and students proud on Friday”.

While David has only been my teacher for about a month, he has shown himself to be a true leader and excellent martial artist. He is an amazing person and an inspiring fighter. I have no doubt he will represent himself and CSC with pride and professionalism. Go Give them hell, Coach!!!
