Patrick “Paddy Mike” Curran and Ryan Sturdy win impressively at XFO30 last night. Coming off a victories just two weeks ago these guys are hungry and staying busy to get their shots at a bigger promotion.
Sturdy advances his record to an impressive 10-2 with a dominating performance over Ryan Sheeper by KO. Sturdy still holds the Middleweight title with Extreme Challenge, the promotion that put out legendary fighters such as Matt Hughes, Rich Franklin, Jens Pulver, Tim Silvia and Pat Militech to name a few. When we asked Sturdy what was next for him he said, “I’m just looking to stay busy, I know I can hurt people in this weight class and my time will come so I’m just gonna train and improve my game. Who ever SuckerPunch lines up for me I’ll be ready to knock’em down.”
Pat Curran made his debut last night at 145lbs and is no stranger to an active schedule. Having fought 3 times in 1 month before Curran likes to stay busy. Facing a formidable opponent in Mike Picket, Paddy Mike put down an impressive performance by submitting the Picket via rear naked choke in the first round. “I felt great at this weight and I am looking forward to fighting again in June” stated Curran. Cousin Jeff Curran told us that there are seeds planted about his young cousin and they are looking to get another win or two at this weight then the press will be on to get him signed to a larger promotion suck as the WEC.
Up next for young Paddy Mike will be June 27th at EFC 4 where Curran faces his biggest fight to date when he squares off with UFC and TUF8 veteran Charles Dias. A win here would certainly solidify young Curran being signed to a larger promotion.
