Congratulations to Anthony Morrison for winning the Ring Of Combat Featherweight Belt on November 20th over fast rising star Jeff Lentz. Anthony’s coach told us, “Lentz is a stud and we were confident that Anthony could beat him”. Morrison controlled the fight from start to finish getting the nod from all three judges and winning a unanimous decision.
Up next for the Philly native is UFC veteran Alvin Robinson in Ring of Fire on Dec 4th. If Morrison pulls out a win over Robinson one would think he would be on the short list for a shot at the WEC. SuckerPunch president Brian Butler says, “Morrison has fought some of the toughest fighters in the sport on his quest to making the big show and we have high hopes to see him make the WEC in 2010″.
